The most interesting trip was the November cruise to John Pennekamp park, when I was fish bait. Nearly rode the back of a bull shark when he came up a few feet under my snorkeling googles. Really spectacular sight, looked like a naval flotilla with the shark surrounded by a large escort of pilot fish. It was the day before thanksgiving and I guess the shark swam up for a dinner preview just off Grecian Rocks reef. But, as he did not see any cranberry sauce near me, perhaps he decided to wait for the official holiday to commence. Otherwise it might have been gooble gooble for me!

Went trout fly fishing in the Ramapo river this spring, caught a brown trout on a Royal Wulff fly on the second trip. On the first trip I did not see any trout, but the river was full of dozens of foot long spawning suckers. Perhaps they scared the trout away.

The boat returned to New York in May. Look for it chasing stripers and bluefish in the ocean and around the south shore of long island this summer.
